American VS Russian strategy for selling electric vehicles till 2015

Mitsubishi I-MiEV electric car in Russia is ready for changing “

In moments of precedents selections when Romney and Obama is taking a shot each other and changing the opinion of American citizens about who is a winner and who looser (Romney says: “ Tesla electric vehicles – A Losser ”), Russian car users says :

“ Recharging cars battery infrastructure is necessary”

This conclude was made in accordance with subcommittee by strategic innovations in the car industry – chamber of commerce of Russian federation of car owners.

This chamber done an opinion poll in who participated 5.000 people.
Russian petrol price raising today is almost 40% higher than 2011 and this is the main motive for selling of electric cars. Also like a native is potency Russians care for the green world (30%).

Another popular reason is only the idea of living and driving with that image aspect , round 25%. Russian owners want to be the first people, who have these electric vehicles, they don’t consider the purchase of an electric car – over 9%.

October 1st 2012 – Schneider Electric in Moscow is have construct 28 free electric charge stations. They were free but now the price of one hour of charging is 30 Roubles.

Till the end of this year will be built (5-10) new electric charging stations in the capital town.

In 2011 when Mitsubishi sells first electric car in Russia, expects Russia to be a risk cars market,  “It is a kind of an experiment, to see how the car will survive in cold conditions and test the impulses of interest from consumers “.  They start to sell I-MiEV. This electric vehicle is sold in one configuration, for price of 1.800.000 Roubles.

Till now they sold more than 100 cars from October of the previous year. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation till the 2015 is planning to produce seven models of electric cars in the Russian market.

Electric car Lithium-ion batteries charging algorithms

Scientist at the University of San Diego – California have found and test new algorithms of charging lithium-ion battery. This method pronounces a half time charging battery cells and they run more efficiently. The mathematical algorithm estimate sales cost production by 25 percent and more.

Researchers use traditional techniques of measuring current and voltage and supervisory behavior and health of cells.

The group was awarded from the Department of Energy’s ARPA-E ($460,000 ) for continuing research for further update the algorithm and companying the battery manufacturer Cobasys and also cars company Bosch, which both received the grant of a $9.6 million.

Charging Lithium-ion

The diagram (Charging Lithium-ion) shows the critical phases of charging lithium-ion batteries. We can see four stages of charging and every stage is algorithmic controlled with optimus charging current and voltage peak.

This is great but does this solution will ever find practical use in the electric cars industry ?

Tesla Electric Vehicles A “Loser” ???

“ Who killed the electric car ?! “

“We can replace our dependence on oil with biofuels and become the first country to have a million electric cars on the road and infrastructure for charging electric cars by 2015,” -Said Obama in January 2011.

” Revenge of the electric car !!! ”

Obama invested in taxpayer loans to put one million electric cars on the road by the end of 2015 ($2.4 billion). Fisker Automobile in 2010 got a taxpayer loan to build a sport electric car ($529 million).A123 – car’s lithium ion battery got a $249 million taxpayer loan.

To get to one million, the government puts hopes on this modelsof fuel efficient cars:

Fisker – Karma, Fisker Nina-Atlantic , Ford Focus, Ford Transit-Connect, Tesla Model-S, Tesla Roadster and Think City – either disappointed the 2015 projections.

Tesla Electric Vehicles A “Loser” – Mitt Romney

Today in debate Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney VS  Barak Obama calls the electric car company Tesla Motors:  A “Loser”.

So, big deal said Romney , Tesla is still in business, also Fisker Automotive, and the two car market “bankrupt businesses”, lithium-ion cell maker Ener1 and solar-panel maker Solyndra.
This companys received loans from the Department of Energy and other agencies during the Obama presidency.

Romney also said’s : We don’t just pick the winners and losers, you pick the losers !.
And against this, Fisker Luxury sedan – Karma and Tesla electric sport sedans Model S is still on the market.

But what do you think:
- Are Romney’s comments are usual presidential politics ?, or could it have an effect on public perception of understanding of the green-technology world?
- And “ who killing the electric cars” !?

Types of electric vehicles

Hi there …
As gasoline and electrification options are increasing for consumers, many people are looking for information to understand how the new technologies work and if it’s right for them.

Depending of how electric vehicles works, in meaning of using electricity or gasoline we have three types of electric vehicles:
- hybrid electric vehicles (HEV),
- plug in-hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) and
- complete-electric vehicles (EV).

Each of these types is designed to reduce or completely eliminate gasoline engine side.

What’s the difference between a HEV and a PHEV?
Or why is an HEV considered an EV?

1) First type is the hybrid electric vehicles (HEV).

Has two engines gasoline and electric.
This type use the moments of braking the car to charge small battery, with this gasoline engine works more efficiently.
This gives us the opportunity to drive longer distances with greater efficiency (pic.1).

2) Second option is plug in-hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).

This type works same as the hybrid electric car only has a larger electric motor and battery, it can use more electricity (pic.2).

We can fill this vehicle home and after a few hours we will have enough charge to use the electric motor for the journey to work, but there are more opportunities if untill the work we continue to travel to other places or long distance, this vehicle simply moves hybrid mode making it all the way effective.

3) The third option is complete-electric vehicles (EV).

They have a great battery and electric engine, without gas, emissions even a teill pipe. We fill this vehicle home and when it is full we have enough energy to do all daily activities (pic.3).

Perfect for everyday use and citi driving.

Ford offers some easy to understand explanations about electric vehicle technology with this video.

Basing on our lifestyle or driving habits we are able to choose the right electric car for us.
